Planetary Mills ? That Was Yesterday.

Planetary mills are the "workhorses" of the laboratory, say Fritsch GmbH. Appropriate for multi-tasking, they are ideal for the rapid, loss-free grinding down to colloidal fineness of laboratory samples into the nano range. Depending on the required degree of fineness, the grinding process can be conducted dry or in suspension or even in controlled atmospheres e.g. vacuum, inert gases etc. Soft, elastic to hard, brittle and fibrous samples are crushed to a fineness as small as 100 nm. Planetary mills are also capable for mixing and homogenisation of emulsions and pastes and can be utilised for mechanical activation and alloying in the field of material research. A selection of grinding elements manufactured in various materials can be used to suit the characteristics of the sample.

As far back as 1961, Fritsch registered its first patent for a laboratory planetary mill with cantilevered grinding bowls. In 1995 Fritsch invented and patented the planetary mono mill a single station planetary ball mill equipped with only one grinding station. In 2006 Fritsch has achieved another milestone in the product development. Planetary mills that was yesterday. Today it is premium line.
The premium line is a new generation of Fritsch planetary mills meets the challenges of everyday tasks and procedures in a modern laboratory and allows for structural change in this field.

The premium line planetary mills will satisfy your future requirements for higher performance and capacity, improved operation and greater safety. A revolutionary operational and safety concept linked with a dramatic increase in performance will support inexperienced users in their daily work in the laboratory, but will also appeal to specialists looking for enhanced methods of sample preparation.

For the first time a planetary mill is as easily to operate as a centrifuge. The fool-proof grinding bowls equipped with SelfLOCK-technique are completely anchored in the grinding mechanics for safely reasons. Automatic grinding bowl detection via RFID chips, fully automatic opening of the grinding chamber and positioning of the grinding bowl to aid removal, as well as fully automatic locking elements and sensors guarantee the highest possible safety and user comfort. The grinding energy, which has been increased by more than 250 % in comparison with conventional planetary mills, is setting new standards and is also sufficient to meet the highest demands going forward.
