Confidence in Validated Spectrophotometers
Aug 19 2013
A laboratory spectrophotometer is a sensitive optical instrument driven by a variety of electro-mechanical interfaces. These are subject to change and deterioration over time impacting the performance of the spectrophotometer as well as the quality and reliability of results.
Using Certified Reference Materials (CRM) to validate the performance of spectrophotometers is the method of choice to ensure peace-of-mind and confidence in your work. Hellma Analytics CRM Laboratory is certified to ISO 17025 for the manufacture of a range of Certified Reference Materials that are directly traceable to NIST primary standards as well as satisfying ASTM and EP regulations.
Hellma Analytics claim that these are very easy to use, even by un-skilled operators, and offers them as both glass and liquid standards for checking wavelength accuracy, absorbance accuracy, spectral bandwidth (resolution) and stray light.
These traceable standards are individually serialised, supplied with full documentation and are available separately or as sets for specific validation protocol. Hellma Analytics recently added a reference microplate, for validating the performance of microplate readers, to their CRM range.
