BMSS Annual Meeting 2013

The British Mass Spectrometry Society’s Annual Meeting will be held on 9th-11th September 2013, at Devonshire Park Centre Conference Facility, Eastbourne Winter Gardens, Eastbourne.

Come and join the BMSS for their welcoming event featuring, on Monday the 9^th September, Scott McLuckey (Purdue University) who will deliver the Maccoll lecture, Johnny Ball (TV presenter) and a drinks reception. Two days of science packed events will then follow, including Leigh Anderson (Plasma Proteome Institute, Washington DC) who will deliver the opening plenary lecture; closing with the BMSS Chair’s invited lecture which is being delivered by John Langley (University of Southampton).  Two parallel sessions will focus on all aspects of mass spectrometry, from small molecules to large, from quantification to metabolites of the future.

As always, poster sessions with prizes for best student oral and poster and an excellent vendor exhibition will feature, plus a new ‘Delegates Choice Poster Prize’ where you get to have your say and anyone can win. In a break from tradition, this year you are invited to join the Big Debates. Observe or take part in panel discussions entitled ‘Billions of dollars spent and proteomics has delivered NOTHING!’ or ‘Mass spectrometry and clinical analysis – why is the uptake so slow?’ There will also be workshops in ‘Ambient ionisation mass spectrometry – can we throw out our LC’s and GC’s’ and ‘Clinical mass spectrometry training’
