contrAA® - The Better Way to Do Atomic Absorption Spectrometry
May 07 2014
Since its introduction into the market one decade ago, High-Resolution Continuum Source (HR-CS) AAS has revolutionised the world of spectroscopy. Analytik Jena’s contrAA® family of instruments provide this technology for Flame, Graphite Furnace and Hydride analysis, including solid AA® - the direct analysis of solid samples in a Graphite Furnace.
With the latest technical and software upgrades HR-CS AAS becomes even more powerful. Designed for fast sequential multi-element analysis, now even simultaneous evaluation of multiple element wavelengths is possible, which further increases sample throughput. The Xenon lamp used as a continuous radiation source makes change of lamps a matter of the past – any wavelength is directly available for analysis. This even includes molecule wavelengths, which can be used to analyse non-metals in the same run together with the 'classical' AAS elements – contrAA® opens new application fields.
A CCD detector is used to display the absorption spectrum of samples. For the first time in AAS users can really see what they measure instead of only seeing a numeric absorbance value. Spectrum display also includes comprehensive correction functions. These allow users to correct any background and spectral interference with a few mouse clicks only, always ensuring correct results.
Together with its ASpect CS software the contrAA® provides analysts from routine and research with powerful tools to boost their lab’s performance. All these impressive possibilities are accessed through an easy to use interface designed for simple and convenient operation...only from Analytik Jena, the technology leader from Germany.
