Bringing something new to the table. Again.

The pharma sector loves an acronym. There are two that are particularly close to our hearts, GMP and SOP.

GMP refers to Good Manufacturing Practice, which dictates the quality standards that specialist furniture and other equipment must meet in order to minimise risk.

While build quality and hygienic design are huge considerations, so too is your Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The two go hand-in-hand and selecting furniture that fits closely into the SOP will drive efficiencies by minimising clean down time. Consequently, the practicalities of cleaning have a direct impact on the lifetime cost of ownership for each piece of furniture.

Therefore, it’s well worth spending time thinking about the minutiae. We would counsel that it really is worth spending as much time as necessary to be sure every item fits into your SOP.

Continuous, iterative, improvement

Our designers must accept they are unlikely to retire knowing they’ve produced a definitive ‘industry standard’ product. But that’s okay. We’re perfectionists and we’ll keep trying so each generation becomes iteratively better.

We listen closely to the industry and all of our specialist furniture is developed in line with the feedback from our customers. To place this in context, we’ve always been justifiably proud of our light duty tables and we receive consistently glowing reports from users. But they could always be better.

Consequently, we’ve updated the entire range. As ever, it’s an evolution rather than a revolution – you don’t give up on a winning formula! We’ve made a range of minor adjustments that offer major lifetime advantages.

Tabling the motion

The first point of difference is to improve accessibility for effective cleaning. The new models feature the support bars for the legs raised to 300mm from the ground. The extra clearance provides better access for thorough cleaning beneath and behind each table, making it easier to maintain hygienic standards.

The new tables are still manufactured using 304 grade stainless steel with a surface roughness of <0.5RaUm ready for Clean Room Grade 5 / Class B operation.  As before this is suitable for most mechanical, thermal and chemical sterilisation options. However, the upgrades to the hygienic design reduce the potential risk of contamination. Harbourage points for dirt or dust have been further removed of the design:

  • The tabletop now features a folded edge with no horizontal ledges underneath
  • The underframe uses diamond bracing so that airflow can reduce the risk of particles settling

There are variants to suit multiple use cases. These include static or mobile models featuring rear rail, centre tie bar, or integrated solid undershelf to suit scenarios in which the item is freestanding or positioned against a wall.

The updated range is built to last, sturdy enough to support payloads of up to 100kg. Each of the new tables is available in widths of between 600-1800mm, with a depth of 600mm and height of 800mm.
