Onwards and Downwards?

As PS Analytical continues to make progress into complex and challenging applications for mercury it is definitely a case of ‘onwards and downwards’ as technology advances and lower detection levels are achieved. The progression of technology without compromising the excellent sensitivity and reliability offered by the PSA instrumentation cements PS Analytical’s position at the cutting edge of environmental monitoring for trace Mercury determinations. Recently a new online Mercury analyser has been installed in the field, for the measurement of Mercury in Liquid hydrocarbons. The challenge as with all analyses, is first to provide a fully representative
sample and then to provide a valid measurement. The system design is based on PS Analytical proven Natural Gas Analyser and incorporates a flash vaporisation unit, which converts the liquid into the vapour prior to treating in a similar fashion to that used for Natural gas. The on-line system can be configured to fulfil a range of safety options and can be integrated into process computer systems to provide the site specific control features required.
