New nitrogen generator with inverter scroll compressor

The LNI Swissgas NitroGen 7040 is a new Membrane Nitrogen Generator which combines technologies for unsurpassed resulting benefits. This generator transforms standard compressed air into a low consumption, regulated supply of nitrogen up to 70 L/min with a purity up to 99.8%. An optional channel can provide up to 40 L/min of compressed, dry and regulated air.

Additionally to the well-known membrane filtration, this new generator is equipped with a combination of a scroll built-in oil free compressor and with an inverter driving accurately the compressor motor speed according pressure and flow requirements of the analytical device.

First, the scroll compressor requires less maintenance because of the reduced parts in motion and operates at a very low noise and vibrations due to the absence of reciprocating parts on the compressor.

Secondly, the inverter combined with an exclusive electronic flow control allows to generate nitrogen with a higher purity but with less air supply requirements in terms of pressure and volume. This result in reduced energy costs and an increased reliability and life time of the compressor. The continuous control of main operating parameters allows to maintain the system at its maximum efficiency, thus reducing energy consumption and costs.

The 7040 with a dual Nitrogen and Air outlets has been developed to meet specific requirements in term of gas, flow, purity and pressure in LC-MS applications. It can be used for solvents evaporation.
