New Online Lab Equipment Rental Marketplace Unveiled at Pittcon 2016

Kwipped Inc officially launched its laboratory equipment rental marketplace at Pittcon 2016 in Atlanta.

“As host to the industry's most influential people and organisations, we felt Pittcon was the ideal springboard for introducing Kwipped. We were thrilled with the positive feedback,” said Kwipped CEO and co-founder, Robert Preville.

Kwipped's platform connects organisations that need to rent lab equipment with a global network of pre-sourced suppliers that showcase their equipment rental inventory on the site. Renters can quickly locate the equipment they need and compare options and prices from multiple suppliers. Kwipped technology accounts for every aspect of renting, including: searching, reservations, scheduling, shipping, insurance, security deposits, contractual agreements and billing.

“Labs often require specialised equipment, and locating it can be an inefficient and fruitless exercise. Many attendees said they never considered renting until they found Kwipped,” explained Preville.

Prior to Pittcon, several early Kwipped adopters already began benefitting from the digital marketplace. After spending an entire day on Google and on the phone, Dawn Boudreaux, the Senior Director of Meetings Services for Virtuoso Healthcare Communications, was unable to locate a specific microscope model. Upon finding Kwipped, she submitted her rental request and within minutes accepted a quote from a Kwipped supplier for the exact microscope she needed. “You saved the day for us,” Bourdreaux expressed in an email to Kwipped.

Additionally, one of the first members of Kwipped's Supplier Network, Scientific Calibration, has earned nearly $20,000 in rental revenue on nine rentals since August 2015.

“We had idle inventory sitting around. Now, thanks to Kwipped, it's out in the market making us money and attracting new customers. Kwipped does the marketing, acquires the customers, and delivers qualified rentals right to my inbox.
