Hanna Instruments HI902C Automatic Titration Systems Upgrade

2016 brings a new software update for the HI902C potentiometric titrator adding several key features to make laboratory operations more secure and efficient.

Hanna Instruments HI902C is a powerful automatic titrator full of features to enable the user to perform a precise and accurate determination of an unknown sample. The dosing system utilises a precision 40,000 step dosing pump. The dosing of titrant can be programmed to dose in linear increments or dynamically in which larger volumes of titrant are dosed in the beginning and smaller volumes as the end point is reached. The HI902C offers a choice of a fixed or equivalence end point termination criteria.

The software upgrade has added new features including enhanced security, flexible measurement options, automated reagent addition, linked methods, and improved sequencing operation with the HI921 autosampler.

Enhanced Security
A password protection option allows users to adhere to strict traceability requirements. An administrator can set a PIN code protecting against unauthorised access. Titration method options and results are tamper-proof while a non-administrator operates the titrator.

Flexible Measurement Options
The HI902C is not only a high-performance titration system, but functions as a high accuracy pH, ORP, and ion selective meter as well. With the ability to log and report direct measurements, data can be managed and tracked without the hassle of manual recordkeeping. Direct measurement methods can be linked to titration methods to record both measurement results for a single sample.

Greater Productivity Through Automation
A burette can now be programmed to volumetrically add reagent to a sample prior to a titration or direct measurement. This feature helps achieve consistent and accurate results and prevents operator errors such as forgetting to add reagent.

Linking a Variety of Possibilities
The HI902C allows users to join two methods of analysis to perform in succession. Direct measurements may be linked to each other or to a titration analysis. Two titration methods may also be linked together.

Improved Titration Sequencing
Experience enhanced flexibility when using the HI921 autosampler. Analysis is more challenging when determining multiple species or performing back titrations. Now, users can effortlessly set up automated sequences to perform direct measurements, multiple equivalence endpoint titrations, or back titrations for each sample. When linked, each sample is analysed for both values before proceeding to the next sample. Two organised reports are generated: a tray report and an individual sample report.
