COD range for every application

HACH LANGE understand customers require a system which provides high levels of accuracy and reliability coupled with a fast process that is able to accommodate a high sample throughput.

Our COD reagents are supplied in a ready-to-use cuvette so that users simply add a sample and replace the cap. The cuvette is placed in a heater for 2 hours, after which time the intensity of colour in the solution is directly proportional to the COD value in the sample. The cuvette is bar-coded so that it is recognised automatically by a HACH LANGE Spectrophotometer, which substantially reduces potential for operator error.
HACH LANGE also offers two more tests alongside the familiar COD products. The ISO COD cuvette tests are ISO 15705 compliant.

The COD (chemical oxygen demand) test is one of the most important analyses conducted by the wastewater sector. It is a measure of organic pollution, and is the most frequently mentioned parameter in European environmental legislation.

The quality and reliability of our spectrophotometers, heating block and COD reagents mean that customers can rely on the correct reading every time. The test is extremely simple to perform and it incorporates several unique features designed to substantially eliminate human error.
Measuring COD by means of the HACH LANGE cuvette test is simple, reliable, affordable and environmentally responsible. Ten practice related measuring ranges ensure top quality results and preliminary dilution of the sample is usually no longer necessary.

In addition, we provide a recycling service for our used cuvettes. This is operated in compliance with the new regulations on hazardous waste management. Our Recycling Centre facilitates recovery of materials from HACH LANGE cuvettes, including the glass itself ,in addition to components such as Mercury, Silver and Chromium. In fact, over 70% of returned materials are either re-used or recycled.
The HACH LANGE European recycling centre in Germany is available for customer audit.
