New Biotechnological Step for Automated Cell-seeding.
Jun 21 2006
In conjunction with several leading universities the company's researchers have used the DMP to ink jet patterns of micron-sized drops of adhesives with proven repeatability. In the biomedical field, this is regarded as a first step toward tissue engineering and creating a bio-based composite for surgical applications.
Due to the unique single-use cartridge based system, cross contamination between samples is eliminated, and there are negligible void volumes. Adjustable parameters make the DMP-2800 the only deposition system that allows substrate flexibility. With the system, researchers can print onto XY heated platens for thin films, wafers, glass slides or assay plates sizes 96, 384, 1536, or 3456, all by changing a software setting. Users can also speed up or slow down the pulses, eliminating issues like satellite drops, and enabling the printing of uniform arrays ranging from 10 picoliters to 100 nanoliters.
