Expanded Product Offering to Enhance 2D-Ggel Electrophoresis Analysis
Dec 14 2011
Denator AB has announced the release of a new kit to ensure scientists obtain a consistent, representative picture of protein profiles when analysing heat-stabilised tissue using standard two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2D-GE). Together with the company’s Stabilizor™ system, the new Stabilizor 2D-GE Extraction Kit enables users to heat-stabilise, homogenise and extract proteins from tissue samples following a validated protocol developed to maximise protein recovery.
Utilisation of Denator’s Stabilizor system, based on the company’s heat-stabilisation technology, has been shown to stop biological changes in tissue from the moment of sampling, preventing the enzymatic processes that alter protein states and cause protein degradation. Earlier this year the company introduced the Stabilizor Peptide Extraction Kit to prepare and extract peptides from heatstabilised tissue prior to LC-MS analysis.
Olof Sköld, CEO at Denator, explained further: “Our goal is to ensure that Stabilizor system users can benefit fully from the advantages of using heat stabilisation upstream and have full confidence in the quality of data from analysis downstream.
The new kit offers the convenience of having all necessary accessories and solutions ready to use, and, most importantly, includes a validated protocol designed to ensure optimal extraction of proteins from heat-stabilised samples prior to analysis. We are very pleased to offer kits that support two of the most common analytical techniques, in use today - 2D-GE and LC-MS.”
Implementation of the Stabilizor solution in laboratory workflows is reflected in a growing number of peer-reviewed publications particularly from proteomic laboratories. Rapid heat stabilisation enables scientists to reveal true protein profiles, detect endogenous peptides and preserve phosphorylation states.
