Anton Paar Introduces Nova Nitro ReGen for BET Analysis
Nov 05 2024
Anton Paar is excited to announce the launch of the innovative Nova Nitro ReGen feature for its BET surface area analyzers, revolutionizing how nitrogen gas is supplied for adsorption experiments. This groundbreaking feature channels pure nitrogen gas evaporating from its Dewar directly into the instrument, completely eliminating the need for bulky nitrogen cylinders. By simplifying the experimental setup and offering accurate, repeatable BET results, the Nova Nitro ReGen technology reduces both the environmental impact and operational costs for laboratories.
Why Nova Nitro ReGen is a gamechanger
Nitrogen is the most widely used gas for adsorption experiments, but it traditionally requires the use of large cylinders that are challenging to ship. Nova Nitro ReGen changes that by recycling nitrogen that evaporates from the liquid nitrogen used for cryogenic cooling. With this sustainable approach, labs can enjoy a steady, pure gas stream, which is crucial for achieving precise, reproducible results in surface area measurements. The system is easy to implement for existing Nova units; only a software update and a specialized gas inlet tube are needed. This simple upgrade brings the benefits of cost savings and space efficiency while contributing to green initiatives by reducing nitrogen waste.
Key features and benefits
- Eliminate the expense of procuring nitrogen cylinders and installing complicated gas lines.
- Reduce setup time and save valuable lab space.
- Recycle nitrogen gas, lowering your carbon footprint.
- Achieve consistently pure nitrogen gas for precise, repeatable results.
Maximize efficiency with Nova BET Analyzers
Anton Paar’s Nova BET surface area analyzers set a new standard in surface area and pore size analysis with their multi-station capabilities and innovative features. These analyzers are designed to handle high-throughput demands, thanks to two analysis stations and two degassing stations, enabling labs to work faster and more efficiently.
With the ability to degas samples while analyzing others, you can run four 5-point BET analyses in approximately 20 minutes, achieving 2 % reproducibility with a surface area measurement of ≥2 m². Automated degassing eliminates the need for operator intervention, ensuring hassle-free operation.
Streamlined analysis process
Nova's built-in degassing stations eliminate the need for external devices, reducing both clutter and complexity. The software-controlled system allows for programmable degassing linked with individual sample IDs, ensuring full traceability and compliance.
Nova Mode allows the use of pre-calibrated sample cells, accelerating analyses by removing the need to measure void volumes before every test while maintaining high measurement precision.
Unmatched sensitivity and reproducibility
The Nova BET analyzers excel in measurement sensitivity with TruZone technology, which creates a small cold zone on the sample cell to enhance the performance of surface area and pore size measurements. Nova instruments provide better than 2 % reproducibility for samples with surface areas as low as 2 m², and can even measure materials with surface areas as low as 0.01 m²/g.
Advanced software for complete control
Nova’s Kaomi software allows users to control up to four BET surface area analyzers from a single PC. With intelligent dosing algorithms like DoseWizard and VectorDose, as well as 20+ built-in analysis profiles for standardized methods (ASTM, ISO, USP, and DIN), the system offers simplicity and speed without sacrificing accuracy.
Data integrity and compliance for pharmaceutical labs
For pharmaceutical labs, Kaomi’s 21 CFR Part 11 Software ensures compliance with FDA guidelines through user management, audit trails, customizable reporting, and electronic signatures. A comprehensive pharma qualification package further ensures operational integrity and adherence to regulatory standards.
