New Pipette Accessory Offers Creativity and Comfort

Gilson has launched its new pipette accessory, the PIPETMAN® Comfort Handle, designed to help reduce pipetting fatigue and provide increased comfort to scientists currently using PIPETMAN single & multichannel Classic™, Neo® and G models.

Scientists spend from two to three hours per day pipetting which can lead to repetitive strain injuries (RSI). This is why Gilson developed an easy-to-use accessory that clips on to PIPETMAN pipettes allowing for increased comfort.

Sylviane Bailleul, Product Manager at Gilson, said: “We already offer many product features that enable users to choose their pipette according to the constraints of each application. Researchers generally have a large quantity of pipettes, many that look alike, and we wanted to help them express their creativity without sacrificing accuracy and precision. The result was an accessory to not only personalise a frequently used tool in the lab, but also to enhance comfort.

With an additional large finger hook and soft texture, this ergonomic handle allows for a better fit in the hand. PIPETMAN Comfort Handle creates a natural feeling balance for the pipette to support your daily pipetting activity and aids in reducing the risk of RSI.

A dedicated identification zone has been integrated into the finger hook of the accessory that allows for quick and easy identification of the pipettes in the lab when a customised label is attached.  Using the label maker tool, scientists can reveal their creativity and design their personalised PIPETMAN® Comfort Handle labels by adding names, pre-created images, maintenance information (such as calibration dates), or their own personal imagery to the pipettes. Labels can be easily removed to be changed and PIPETMAN Comfort Handle can also be autoclaved to prevent contamination.
