5-Way TIVA set for safer, streamlined anaesthesia

Mediplus has launched its latest innovation, the 5-Way TIVA Set, designed to streamline total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) by integrating multiple drug lines into a single, efficient system. This advanced design enables clinicians to administer up to four drugs and an infusion through a consolidated hub, improving safety and reducing complexity in anaesthesia management.

Traditional TIVA setups require multiple lines and connection points, increasing the risk of leaks, blockages, and errors. The 5-Way TIVA Set eliminates unnecessary connections, ensuring a cleaner and more reliable administration process. Features include Siamese tubing to prevent tangling and colour-coded lines for easy identification, enhancing both safety and efficiency.

Emma Gray of Mediplus commented: “The 5-Way TIVA Set represents a significant step forward in simplifying anaesthesia delivery while improving patient outcomes. By reducing line complexity and minimising risks such as post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV), this innovation supports safer, more effective clinical workflows.”

The system incorporates an anti-siphon valve to prevent backflow and an anti-reflux valve to maintain uncontaminated fluid lines. Available in 2.5M and 3M lengths, it offers flexibility to suit different clinical settings.

In line with Mediplus’s commitment to sustainability, the 5-Way TIVA Set reduces plastic usage by minimising the number of required lines, aligning with ongoing efforts to advance healthcare while lowering environmental impact.
