Validated tumour tissue samples for advanced cancer research
Nov 19 2024
AMSBIO’s CancerSeq™ FFPE tissues provide pre-screened tumour samples validated for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), insertions, deletions, and copy number variations (CNVs). Using targeted Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), these tissues help identify key mutations and mutational hotspots, offering researchers invaluable insights into cancer biology.
Understanding the complex mechanisms behind tumour development is a central focus of cancer research. While traditional or genetically altered cancer cell lines are often used as in vitro models, they fail to reflect the genetic diversity of actual tumours, which typically exhibit multiple mutations rather than isolated genetic changes. CancerSeq™ tissues address this limitation by enabling the study of clinical cancer biology with unmatched accuracy.
Derived from real tumour samples, CancerSeq™ tissues are available as FFPE curls, slides, and blocks. These samples are prepared from genomic DNA extracted from authentic tumour tissues, providing researchers with highly relevant and precise tools for their studies. Validated on advanced NGS platforms, CancerSeq™, CancerSeq™ Plus, and CancerSeq™ AMS samples include mutation and variation data for up to 67 cancer-associated genes, including BRAF, KRAS, EGFR, ALK, and TP53. Upon request, researchers can also access detailed information on tissue donor clinical histories and tumour types.
Proven across a wide range of applications, CancerSeq™ samples support the validation of cancer marker mutation-related drug candidates, genotyping controls, and the development of companion diagnostic assays. They are also ideal for immunohistochemistry (IHC), in-situ hybridisation assays, and cellular localisation of tissue-specific mRNA and protein expression. Additionally, they facilitate the isolation of DNA and RNA with specific mutation profiles.
These versatile tissue samples empower cancer researchers to conduct studies that more closely mirror real-world tumour biology, enhancing the potential for groundbreaking discoveries. Contact AMSBIO to explore how CancerSeq™ tissues can support your research objectives.
