New Spectrophotometer for Colour Measurement
May 19 2010
The new Lovibond® PFXi spectrophotometer introduces a unique concept in liquid colour measurement. For the first time, this type of equipment offers the capability for remote calibration and servicing via the Internet – eliminating any costs and time delays associated with servicing. This new technology, coupled with the Lovibond® accuracy of measurement, provides the industry with an ideal solution for constant, reliable colour measurement.
The PFXi spectrocolorimeters are simple to use with no need to build up calibration curves as they are already established in the instruments. The large, clear LCD screen allows the display of graphs and data in a wide variety of languages and the easy to use menu system guides operators through the selection of operating parameters. Measurements are initiated by just a single key press. The accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility of data provided by the instruments allow for tighter colour specifications and greater colour consistency, giving companies the confidence needed to make important decisions regarding high value products.
The PFXi range is supplied with a full range of colour scales for specific markets including, but not limited to, Petroleum, Edible Oils, Pharmaceuticals, Brewing and Honey. The remote upgrade feature allows the easy, flexible addition and upgrading of colour scales once the instrument is in service. A comprehensive list of available scales and advice on the selection of scales can be obtained from
The Tintometer Ltd.
All PFXi instruments include Lovibond®‘s new RCMSi technology (Remote Calibration & Maintenance Service via internet). This unique feature allows a calibrated measurement to be taken using a series of ISO 17025 certified liquid standards. The spectral response is transmitted to The Tintometer Ltd’s secure calibration server in the United Kingdom. On completion of the procedure, a traceable calibration certificate is e-mailed to the user. The RCMSi system not only gives the user added confidence that the instrument is working within tight ISO standards but also reduces the need for expensive on-site servicing and preventative maintenance of the unit.
