The new ALPHA is in a class of its own; with its small footprint, affordable price, exchangeable sampling accessories and easyto-use software; the new ALPHA will find a place in every laboratory. ALPHA only takes up about the same amount of bench space as letter size sheet of paper (about 8 by 11 inches), making it the world’s smallest full service FT-IR instrument!

The small footprint of the ALPHA makes it ideal for quality control. The ALPHA in combination with Bruker Optics powerful OPUS/Mentor software and extensive infrared libraries provide easy-to-use turn key solutions. Unknown substances are identified in seconds.

The ALPHA interferometer is based on Bruker Optics’ patented RockSolid™ design, which is used in our laboratory and rugged process spectrometers. This means the ALPHA delivers the performance and reproducible results people have come to expect from a Bruker FT-IR. The ALPHA is also insensitive to vibration, so it can be placed almost anywhere, can be moved, and be immediately operational without any need for alignment.

The ALPHA offers full FT-IR sampling flexibility. User exchangeable QuickSnap™ sampling modules allow the analysis of almost any kind of sample (e.g. solids, liquids or gases).

Transmission, diffuse and external reflection and attenuated total reflection (ATR) FT-IR sampling accessories are available with the QuickSnap™ interface.

ALPHA’s new innovative ‘Platinum ATR’ sampling module incorporates a unique onefinger pressure applicator for faster and more reproducible ATR sampling. The ‘Platinum ATR’ is designed for easy cleaning, with a pressure applicator that can be rotated 360° to provide the user with unobstructed access to the sampling area.

The ALPHA makes FT-IR analysis simpler than it has ever been before. The OPUS/Mentor software, with its easy and intuitive user interface, guides the operator through all the steps of an analysis. The user interface can easily be customised for dedicated applications or experiments
