Rapid FAME Preparation for GC/GCMS using Microwave Technology
Jan 17 2019
Analytix has added Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) preparation capability to its Ethos range of microwave instruments that enables laboratories to quickly and reproducibly derivatise fatty acids in up to 44 samples simultaneously for subsequent analysis by GC/GCMS.
The development brings additional functionality to the popular instrument and delivers all the benefits of microwave sample preparation to users, such as increased speed, accuracy, efficiency, safety and cleanliness.
FAME preparation with an Ethos system combines simple methodology with the MAXI-44, a medium-pressure, high-throughput rotor that can carry up to 44 vessels for increased productivity.
The systems allow testing laboratories to achieve the maximum possible levels of efficiency whilst maintaining ongoing compliance with organisations such as UKAS and equivalents across the UK and Ireland.
The Ethos systems have microwave cavities in excess of 70 litres, the largest currently available, and are compatible with a number of rotors for fast and efficient sample preparation.
