New Deepwell Plates Are Full of Imagination, Quality and Choice

Oct 30 2007

Eppendorf Plate® Deepwell 96 and 384 set new standards in terms of purity, stability, centrifuge and automation compatibility. With innovative optimised well geometry, an exclusive error-safe labelling system and g-safe® stability up to 6,000 x g, the plates deliver first-rate results first time and every time.

Eppendorf Plate Deepwell 96 and 384 incorporate the new RecoverMax® design with conical well bottoms and smooth, rounded corners and transitions for square well plates. These features provide faster pipetting, resuspension and mixing because the liquid collects in the centre of the well bottom, while ?wicking' in well corners is prevented to eliminate cross-contamination between wells.

Another major innovation introduced in these plates is the OptiTrack® matrix combining a choice of five vibrant border colours and a high-contrast, UV- and chemical-resistant alphanumeric labelling system. This ensures simple plate orientation, even in stacks, and quick, error-safe identification of plates and wells.

Manufactured using high-purity polypropylene, Eppendorf Plates Deepwell are extremely rugged, with respect to mixing and centrifugation, and designed for complete compatibility with all standard pipetting robots and automated and high-throughput sample processing. Absolutely flat planar surfaces enable reliable repeated manual and automated sealing, while in plate stacks there is no well-nesting so foils are not dented or damaged. Inert, sample-repellent well surfaces are formed solely by the optimised manufacturing process, with no surface coatings whatsoever. Eppendorf LoBind plates are PCR-clean, eliminating the need for special treatment before using the plates.
