New Synergy 4 with Hybrid Technology Redefines Multi-detection Microplate Reader Market

The new patent-pending Synergy? 4 Multi-Detection Microplate Reader, from BioTek Instruments Inc, is the first multi-mode reader that combines filter-based and quadruple monochromator-based fluorescence detection technology to perform an unlimited number of microplate-based assays. This Hybrid Technology provides for endless flexibility in current and future microplate-based assay choice. In addition, Synergy 4 includes Fluorescence Intensity, Luminescence, Fluorescence Polarization, Time-Resolved Fluorescence, and UV-Visible Absorbance.

Filter-based fluorescence technology provides optimal light filtering and purification for the best sensitivity. The inherent design of filter systems also provides fast wavelength switching and higher read speeds. The quadruple monochromator-based fluorescence technology offers flexible wavelength selection, true spectral scanning, reduced background noise and increased convenience. The combination of both these systems in one unit means that microplate assay choice is no longer restricted by the technology of the microplate reader.

By designing a multi-detection microplate reader that combines the best of filter-based and monochromator-based fluorescence systems, customers can now benefit from increased flexibility and true multi-detection in one compact footprint; and as assay requirements change, the Synergy 4 will seamlessly support this evolution.
