About the Asia Pacific Laboratory Benchmarking Survey

The Asia Pacific Laboratory Benchmarking Survey is the only benchmarking survey in the region that covers quality, speed and cost performance indicators. The survey gathers data on best practices in over 2,000 laboratories from 14 countries across Asia Pacific, making it the largest and most impactful of its kind.

Launched in 2010 as a paper survey, the Asia Pacific Laboratory Benchmarking Survey quickly gained traction over the years due to the value of the data and insights generated. It went online in 2015 as the number of laboratories and volume of data became too large to manage manually. In 2017, it inspired two peer-reviewed publications, including the largest published survey on diagnostic laboratories in Asia and a major study of diagnostic laboratories in India.
