Badger Meter has acquired SmartCover Systems, a provider of sensors, software and related services for collections systems monitoring. The acquisition adds real-time monitoring of collection systems, with a focus on sewer lines and lift stations to the already robust network monitoring applications offered through BlueEdge™.
As a result of its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) upgrade, Columbia Water gained crucial insights into its water management, enhancing operational efficiency and enabling rapid responses to service issues. This transition led to a 96% reduction in monthly service calls and a 21% decrease in inactive accounts, significantly boosting customer confidence in billing accuracy.
As part of an ongoing effort to deliver best-in-class service to its customers, the City of Galveston’s Sustainable Interactive Customer Connections (SICC) project will upgrade all water meters to advanced metering technology from Badger Meter. In March, the project was named one of the top 20 smart city projects globally and received a Smart 20 Award.
