Every year, 2 million tonnes of plastic ends up in the ocean that has been washed down rivers.

Most of this comes from what we throw away and flush, even if we don't live near the sea. Plastic harms the environment and kills wildlife, but we can all play our part in fighting plastic pollution by taking simple steps to reduce our reliance on plastic.

Follow the path of plastic pollution from its land-based source. There are a series of lessons and activities created by the Environment Agency looking at the different sources of plastic waste coming from the land-based sector including agriculture and farming, aimed at young people aged 14 and over. Environment Agency (EA) | Partners | Countryside Classroom
