Mills and Grinders
The ultimate standard in reproducible sample homogenisation
Jan 09 2024
For nearly 50 years, Retsch's Ultra Centrifugal Mills have set the benchmark for sample homogenisation, serving quality control labs globally. The latest ZM 300 model combines German engineering excellence, premium materials, intelligent accessories, and cutting-edge software.
With an impressive speed of 23,000 rpm, the ZM 300 outperforms traditional centrifugal mills, typically limited to 18,000 rpm. Prioritising operator convenience and safety, this powerful mill delivers exceptional grinding results, producing particles 15 to 20% finer than conventional rotor mills, depending on the material. The high speed also allows for an increase of sample throughput by 10 to 15%.
Notable features include a variable speed range for optimal adaptation to sample requirements, minimising grinding time and moderating temperature increase. Excessive heat, which can negatively impact results, is controlled, especially crucial for materials with moisture or volatile components.
The ZM 300 incorporates an integrated temperature sensor near the ring sieve, displaying real-time temperature on the mill's interface. This feature empowers users to fine-tune the grinding process, enhancing reproducibility.
